More News from Room 2a - 2082 New Zealander of the Year!

Nick —

With the Year 6 classes flying into the future to meet the 2082 New Zealanders of the Year, (of course, these famous New Zealanders all come from Kaurilands School!) our students have been writing biographies on these famous New Zealanders. Have a read of one of the amazing biographies on the award winning writer Juno. (Written by Juno Rm 2a).

There are few people who have won as many awards as Juno.  She is best known for her amazing animations, art, and books.

Early life - Juno was born on the 29th of August 2011.  She grew up in the busy city of Auckland, in Titirangi.  Juno attended the award-winning school, Kaurilands Primary, she had many amazing teachers, but there was one who stood out from the rest, Nick Van Den Borst, her year 6 teacher, he helped shape her future today.  Juno's friend, Sophie, described her as funny, creative, and kind. “she has always been an amazing artist,” Sophie said in an interview with talk show host Kyle Ayres.

Path to fame - Juno's first job was at McDonalds and she was very bored one day during a shift when Elon Musk, Mr Beast, and Jeff Bezos walked in and demanded three ice creams, even though many know the machine is always broken. Juno thought fast and in one minute she fixed the ice cream machine for good. She won a Nobel Prize for her quick thinking and contribution to society.

Author - Juno's passion was writing, and she wrote many fictional novels and biographies.  The first book she published in 2031 was a biography about the world-famous pilot, Elin Walker, who was Juno's classmate during school.  This book sold out 2 seconds after publishing and today her books are the most treasured pieces of literature ever created.

Artist - Juno wasted thousands of dollars on illustrators for her books and in 2030 decided to draw the pictures herself.  Every day she created beautiful pieces of art for her books and was quickly becoming one of the most sought after artists of all time.  She sold many pieces of digital art and created 2 drawings per day.  Though she quickly moved on from this slow-paced life and in 2040 decided to pursue a different career.

Animator - Juno moved to Japan in 2046 and quickly fell in love with the video games and anime there. She was hired as a background artist for the popular franchise Pokemon and in 2050 she became the head animator.  She still animates for Pokemon to this day.  She also helped animate scenes for popular Nintendo games such as Animal Crossing and Super Mario Odyssey

Juno's quick thinking, beautiful stories, immaculate pieces of art, her amazing animations and her enduring modesty were all vital to make her the 2082 New Zealander of the year.
