Room 13 News

Suzanne —

As part of our Year 3 Inquiry on ‘Nature Guardians’, Room 13 went for a walk along the boardwalk in our bush. We closed our eyes and listened to nature, as well as looked at everything around us. The tamariki then wrote about their experience.

“We heard the graceful birdsong of the tui,” said Nathan.

“It was a little dark and the sun was blocked by the trees overhead,” said Brian.

“Snap, as the class trampled on the forest floor,” said Zachary.

“I saw a really swirly koru and smelt the smell of beautiful nature,” said Jacob.

“I saw magnificent fluttering fantails and heard a rushing stream bubbling over rocks,” said Matthew.

“I heard beautiful tweeting tui calling in their own language,” said Aarna.

“When the boardwalk came to an end, we sat down, closed our eyes tightly and listened to the beautiful sounds around us,” said Charlotte.

What a wonderful time we had and aren’t we so lucky to have this beautiful space at Kaurilands.
