News from the Library

Laura the Librarian —

Kaurilands Book Week

We are very excited for our upcoming Book Week and Scholastic Book Fair running from Monday 23rd to Friday 27th September. The Book Fair will be open in the Library from 8.30am until 4pm every day of Book Week, from the Monday lunchtime onwards. Please see our poster above for all the week's activities.

Poetry Competition Winners

We recently celebrated Poetry Day NZ. We had a competition for our students to enter their poems. Our winners are shown below. Congratulations to Ruby from Room 2b and Steven, our runner up, from Room 7.  The wonderful Poetry Box website published their poems on its website:

Looking after our Library books

Please supervise small children with library books and if a book does get damaged please return it to the Library as is. Please do not try and mend it at home. We have special book tape to mend books. The sellotape at home can damage the books. We also have board books available in the Library that can be borrowed for small children at home.

Hell Pizza Wheels

Below are some of our awesome students who have completed their Hell Pizza Wheels so far this term!  Students read seven books and answer a question, or write a book review of each, and they earn a free kids size Hell Pizza. We are very proud of them! The Hell Pizza Wheels will be running until the end of this year so there is still plenty of time to start one!

Special mention to Lexie in Rm 18, a new entrant who has completed 2 Hell Pizza Wheels already!
