Follow the Matariki Trail and learn how Māori used the different plants in the forest.  View the winning photos from our Matariki festival photo competition, wander through the taonga exhibition, learn about local Māori history and identify historical pa sites.  Also participate in the interactive activities stationed around the Visitor Centre - make your own tiki mask, weave harakeke, carve a hei tiki, play poi and ti rakau (stick game), join in on whakari (story telling), make your own taonga puoro (wind instrument) and watch awesome local kapahaka performances.
