Ashley —

In Rūma Arotahi, we are learning to successfully work in groups.  We have been doing this a few ways.  One way is by recreating scenes with groups of people.  A number is called out and then a scene, such as a school or the Auckland Skyscape.  Students co-ordinate themselves into groups with the given number of people and then recreate the scene using their bodies. They then identify challenges and solutions of working in a group.  A challenge might be not having a formal plan, a solution might be coming up with a plan, sharing your ideas and listening to others.  Here are some photos of us collaborating, problem solving and communicating as a Year 6 Class by recreating the Auckland Skyscape in groups.
