News from Room 1a

Ashley Goodspeed —

The students of Room 1a have been enthusiastically working on their Samoan art. These particular pieces of art work have been inspired by the Samoan and New Zealand artist Fatu Feu’u.

In order to create the intricate designs and an aesthetically pleasing background, tamariki copied the artist's shapes and layout. They then used a limited colour scheme and tried to mimic Fatu’s textured colouring style.

If you would like to see this artwork in person, it will be on display in the corridor from the beginning of next week.
