Y3 students and the Dig In Team

This year the Year 3 children will be taking part in our Dig In Programme. This is a very successful programme that teaches our tamariki about healthy eating, growing fruits and vegetables, harvesting and cooking with produce from our school gardens.Over the past two days the children in the staffroom have taken part in their first sessions. Half the children were out in the gardens, digging up potatoes, picking pumpkins, planting seeds and replanting native trees. The other half of the children were in the kitchen where they followed a recipe to make tasty apple and rhubarb pies that were enjoyed by all. Everyone involved had a great time.  Big thank you to Nancy and Sandra who keep our gardens looking great and are part of the Dig In Team.  Here are a few photos of our experience:
