Principal's Message
Kia ora e te whānau
We have all been enjoying the settled weather recently - long may it last! It is always fantastic when we can get our children outside and running around as much as possible. Our children participate in a range of sports codes and interschool tournaments throughout the year particularly in Years 5 and 6. This week a large contingent participated in a Rippa Rugby tournament and I was thrilled to hear from parents about their outstanding sportsmanship and team spirit. I'm so proud to hear about this positive representation at an interschool event!
This year we have twelve netball teams - six Year 5 and 6 teams began the competition on Monday nights from the beginning of this term and six Year 2 to 4 teams began last night. A huge thanks to Jo Senio for co-ordinating netball for Kaurilands which is a huge job. Thanks to all our coaches and managers for volunteering your time and energy!
Next Wednesday we will open Room 18 for our next New Entrant class. Our new teacher is Anna Jackson who is coming to Kaurilands from Royal Oak Primary School. We warmly welcome Anna and our new children and whānau. Room 11 will open on Monday 22nd July, the first day of Term 3.
I know everyone will be very excited about the upcoming disco on Friday 21st June. Tickets are available on Kindo.
Our annual celebration of Matariki is coming up on Thursday 4th July commencing at 5.45am! Information with come out shortly with the details. A reminder that the Matariki public holiday is Friday 28th June.
Finally, congratulations to all our Principal's Award winners from yesterday's mid term assembly. Ka pai! We are so proud of you all.
