Room 13 News
In Rūma tekau ma tōru, we have been learning about simple machines. We have been learning about how they work and have been identifying simple machines around the school. We created some 'Simple Machine' art that represents gears.
A gear is a wheel and axle that has teeth along the wheel. They move in a circular motion. The size of the gear changes the speed that it rotates. Gears are often used in machines to increase force or speed. Cars and bicycles use gears.
Can you think of any other simple machines that use gears?
We hope you like our designs! :)
