Message from Kaurilands School Board

Nick Summerfield —

Tēnā koutou katoa,

On behalf of the Kaurilands School Board I would like to extend our sincere thanks to Jo Augustine and the Senior Leadership Team for guiding our school through yet another turbulent year! As your elected representatives we have worked closely with Jo throughout this period. We have observed the time and effort Jo and the team have devoted to the learning and wellbeing needs of our tamariki and we are grateful to have such dedicated and talented leaders.

To the staff of Kaurilands school – thank you for all your hard work this year, particularly during Terms 3 and 4. The feedback we have received from Jo and numerous parents is that you have all gone above and beyond. This year we are farewelling some excellent staff members and we wish you all the very best for your future endeavours.

To the parents and caregivers who volunteer their time for Te Whānau Āwhina – this year could not have been more challenging for fundraising! Yet you have shown your creativity and adaptability, raising some much-needed funds for our school. Here’s hoping many of your exciting large-scale ideas will come into fruition in 2022.

And finally, to our Year 6 leavers - this was not the final end to primary school that any of us imagined, but you have adapted to numerous changes and as Kaurilands graduates we know you will make us all incredibly proud as you transition to your various intermediate schools.

We wish you all a safe and restful summer break.

Ngā mihi nui,

Nick Summerfield

Chair – Kaurilands School Board
