Principal's Message

Jo Augustine —

Kia ora e te whānau

This will be our second to last newsletter of the year. This time in two weeks it will be our last day for 2024. As always, everything flies by at a frantic pace at this time of year with multiple activities happening every day.

We are in the process of clearing out our Resource Room ready for our building project to start on the 23rd December, hence the skip outside that space. There will also be a bit of movement around classrooms for some teachers over the next two weeks as we get cleared out for the big holiday break and then into 2025 classrooms.

Our teachers and senior leaders are working hard to organise the 2025 classes. This is not a simple process as there are always many factors to consider. We do our absolute best to ensure every child's placement is carefully considered for the best possible outcomes. The current year's teachers organise the placements taking into account a balance of numbers, gender, friendships, learning needs and abilities, interests and combinations. Our teachers know the children very well and are all invested in their progress throughout their entire school journey. Please be reassured we will do our utmost to place every student in the best possible class.

We will let you know which class and teacher your child will be with on Wednesday 18th December. We will also send the reports out that day. A reminder that on the morning of Friday 20th December everyone moves to their new classrooms between 10.30am -11.00am.

On Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th February we will be offering individual 10 minute Meet the Teacher times between 12.30pm - 3pm on both days. These will replace the Open Afternoons we have offered over the last couple of years. We will send out booking times and information closer to the time.

In the meantime, I am excited to see many of you at the upcoming events over the next 2 weeks!
