The recent trustee election means a sad farewell to two of our trustees: Carolyn Webster and Hayley Jesperson. Carolyn has been a parent-elected trustee for the last three years and board chairperson for the last 18 months. Hayley has been the staff trustee since 2014! Carolyn and Hayley both decided not to seek re-election.

Carolyn and Hayley have both made an enormous contribution to the board and we are sorry to see them go. However, we are really looking forward to our new trustees coming on board: parent-elected trustees Susanna Barthow and Katharine Brown and staff trustee Josh Farrell. Our board has a big job to do and we are excited about the fresh perspectives and ideas our new trustees will bring.

One of the last tasks the old board had the privilege of completing was Jo Augustine’s annual appraisal, with the help of an external specialist. That process confirmed what we all know - just how lucky our community is to have Jo. We particularly liked this quote:

"The school is going from strength to strength. It has earned the reputation as a well-run, progressive school that is a safe and happy place for staff, students and the community. People enjoy belonging to the Kaurilands school community and are proud of how it operates and what it achieves".

Well done Jo – we are so grateful for everything you do!
