Erin Namajuska —

Wow!  What a year!  We have had lots of fun this year in Room 18.  I am very lucky to have such a fabulous bunch of children, keen to learn and enjoy every moment along the way.  We kick started the year with our Dig In Inquiry.  Here we learnt all about plants, cooked tasty nutritious meals and designed and created smoothies to be judged by Mrs Augustine.  In Term 2 we learnt all about animations and had lots of fun making our own.  In Term 3 we went back in time to Howick Historical Village.  Here the children were fascinated with how different life was back in the 1840s. I know many were very happy that New Zealand schools have changed dramatically - I am not sure they would have coped back then in those very strict classrooms.  We have ended the year with looking at music and instruments.  Our Year 3 sleepover was a great adventure for all and will not be forgotten.   On top of all of this we have competed in Triathlon and Athletics events, grown our own fancy lettuce to enter in the Year 3 competition and have continued to learn about preparing, cooking and tasting new foods.  2017 in Room 18 has really been awesome!   I am super proud of every single child and will miss them greatly.
