Kim/Ashley —

Rūma Toru has shown resilience and a can-do attitude throughout term 4.  During week 10, the tāmariki enjoyed improving Bush Skills, while working collaboratively to build a bivouac, or temporary shelter.  As part of an interactive writing activity, the students adventured into the bush to create a shelter that would protect them from the wind.  The highlight was when the students were told that the “rain” was coming.  It was then that buckets of water splashed upon their shelters.  The rain tested their bivouacs to see which ones were the most effective and water-tight.  Throughout this experience the students were active in team-building, which required collaboration, ingenuity and problem-solving.  Ka pai Rūma Toru for your wonderful ability to work well together and problem solve.
