News from Rūma 12
As the year draws to a close, Room 12 has been reflecting on all the memorable experiences we’ve shared. One of the standout highlights has been our Dig In programme, where students have rolled up their sleeves to care for our garden. From planting and watering to weeding and harvesting, the children have learnt about responsibility, teamwork, and the rewards of growing their own food.
But the fun doesn’t stop in the garden! Our budding chefs have also been using the fresh produce to whip up a variety of delicious treats, exploring new flavours and learning valuable cooking skills along the way. To celebrate these accomplishments and share the joy with our wider community, the Year 3 team has decided to create a special cookbook featuring all the recipes we’ve enjoyed throughout the year.
Room 12 has been hard at work on the summer section of the cookbook, using their creative talents to design vibrant pages filled with delicious ideas for the warmer months. The process has been a wonderful way to combine art, literacy, and life skills, as the children have taken ownership of every step, from writing and illustrating recipes to experimenting with layouts.
We are thrilled to give you a sneak peek at some of the pages we’ve created so far!
