Can you donate any New Zealand plants?

Lillian Bombay —

As you may be aware there was a major slip along the bank/creek area last year.  Due to safety reasons this area (about half an acre) is in the process of being permanently fenced off which is to be paid by the Ministry of Education.   We need to stabilise the land by planting it out which is a cost that the school has to cover.

We are therefore asking families if they would like to donate any NZ NATIVE plants to the school for this purpose.  It could be a ground cover plant, a shrub or a tree. We would like the children of our school to be involved in this planting project (which will be dependent upon how many plants we receive).

If you feel that you would like to contribute that would be fantastic. Just bring your plant(s) along to Room 21. I n the event that we don’t have enough plants for all children to plant, could you please put a tag on the plant with your child’s name and room number to enable  your child to plant your plant.

We are hoping to carry out this project in the early weeks of Term 2. Thank you in advance for any plant donations made.
