Acting Principal's Message

Erin Namajuska —

Kia ora whānau

We are now in the middle of busy Term 1 with so many amazing things happening across the school.  Over the past couple of weeks we have had our sports leaders take part in a leadership day, our Year 3 children attended a day at the beach to build whanaungatanga and our swimming and cricket teams represented our school at Interschool tournaments. Classes are settled and engaged in learning. Walking around the school it is wonderful to see such happy children and families about the place.

Thank you to everyone who attended our whānau meetings over the past couple of weeks. The teachers really enjoyed learning more about your children and are excited to work alongside you all this year. Building strong home school relationships are important for continued progress. A reminder that you are welcome to organise a time to meet with your child’s teacher anytime throughout the year.

It has been a very successful week here in sport.  Kaurilands School took part in their first Interschool tournaments, swimming and cricket and proudly came home with the cups.  A big thank you to Kyle, Steve and the large team of parents that supported us in these events.  Please see our sport posts for more information.

A warm welcome to our new families here at Kaurilands.  Our six Year 1 classes are nearly full with our next class opening at the beginning of next term.

Ngā mihi
