Principal's Message

Jo Augustine —

Kia ora e te whānau

We made it!  Term 1 has been eventful to say the least and we are all looking forward to a break for a couple of weeks.  The stunning weather this term has meant we have had swimming right up to the end of the term!

Thanks to so many of you who came to the parent/teacher interviews on Tuesday or Wednesday this week.  These discussions are incredibly helpful for us and have hopefully been useful for you too.  It is great to have parents back in classrooms and with the move to the Orange level, school is opened up to you all again!  Teachers will be in touch with individual requests for assistance from Term 2 onwards.

I am proud of the way the children and staff have navigated the changes and challenges at school this term.  Flexibility and adaptability have been key and everyone has done an admirable job.  We will contact you with our Health & Safety plan for Term 2 in the second week of the holidays once we have processed the implications of the Orange level.

During the holidays work will begin on a new playground in the senior area beside Room 5.  This project will begin next Monday and is scheduled to be completed by the end of Week 1 Term 2.  See design below.

I wish you all a relaxing and restful Easter and holiday break with your whānau.  Stay safe and we will see you all on Monday 2nd May.
