This term, the Year 3 Inquiry has been Ko Wai Au? Who am I?  It’s been interesting to explore what countries our ancestors have come from through the generations.  Last week we went on a trip to the Maritime Museum to further our learning about immigration. 

After travelling by bus to the Maritime Museum, we were greeted by our host and educator, Aree, who through some fun learning activities, talked about reasons why people immigrated. Then we explored the exhibitions on display.

The grand finale of the day was hopping aboard the ‘Ted Ashby’ boat and sailing across the harbour.

We helped hoist the sails, saw the Auckland Harbour Bridge and the Sky Tower, before heading back to the museum.  From there, our journey ended and we came back to school, happy after our adventurous but tiring day.
