Last week as a kura we celebrated Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori. The theme was Kia Kaha Te Reo Māori – making the language stronger - and there were many exciting activities happening around our kura.  At 12pm on Thursday 14th September we all stopped and came together in the hall to take part in the Māori Language Moment where we recited our kura’s pepeha and sang Ah Ha Ka Ma. It sounded awesome!

We had a schoolwide Te Reo Māori poster competition and many ‘Rawe te Reo’ gotcha awards were given out over the week to tamariki for giving Te Reo a go! A draw was done at our assembly yesterday and the winners were awarded with a Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori goodie pack or a picture book written in Te Reo Māori.
