Environmental focus Term 4

Kaurilands environmental focus for Term 4 is " Saving Water".  Good quality water is essential for life.  No new water is being made.  What we have on earth is all we are ever going to have. No water, no life, nothing.  At school, we are learning about ways in which we can look after our water and not waste it.   It would be good to carry the message through to home as well. Some simple ways would be to fix leaks, know when to half or full flush a toilet, turn the tap off whilst brushing teeth, shower instead of bath, use a full load instead of half load for clothes washing or dish washing, collect rain water for watering the garden (water early morning or late evening), wash the car on the lawn so the water runs into the earth and not the drain etc. An awareness to appreciate and protect the earths resources is an important life lesson.
