News from Room 4b
Our Year 5s have been looking into different careers and exploring our skills and qualities that would be valuable in the future! We launched this inquiry with an exciting day where the students needed to earn money and rent classroom resources. A lot of wise financial decisions were made and collaboration was essential!
We were fortunate to have a number of parents come in and talk about their jobs and what skills you need to do them. Rūma Whā B was fortunate enough to hear from Ben the firefighter, Hayden the detective, Bryony the diabetic nurse and Jeff from New Zealand on Air. There were a lot of really interesting questions asked and answered with some incredible advice.
Lastly, we looked at our skills and past experiences and applied for some jobs by writing cover letters. We may have some future lego masters, panda nannies, waterslide experts or ice cream tasters among us!
