Watercare Works - Start Next Week

Jo Augustine —

Please find below a letter we have received from Watercare regarding upcoming works on Atkinson Road. The key stages to take note of are the following:

The works will be done in three stages as follows:

  • Stage 1 – 31 October to 23 December 2022 with the road closed between 60 Atkinson Road Titirangi to the Atkinson Road/Kaurilands Road intersection.
  • Stage 2 – 9 January to 7 February 2023 with the road closed between the Atkinson Road/Kaurilands Road intersection and Woodfern Crescent.
  • Stage 3 – 7 February to April 2023 with the road closed from Woodfern Crescent to Daffodil Street, with a diversion in place around Woodfern Crescent.

Street signage will apparently be going up shortly around the area. I have attached a map we have been supplied with showing the section of Atkinson Road which will be closed for Stage 1.

Under Stage 1 a diversion will be in place from Pleasant Road to Atkinson Road to Captain Scott Road, West Coast Road, Glendale Road and Kaurilands Road. Parking will still be available directly outside the school and in the carpark area across from the school.

How will this affect you?

  • Working hours will be from 7am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday and 7am to 2pm on Saturday including some Statutory Holidays.
  • Traffic management will be in place 24/7 during construction for the safety of the public, traffic, and our workers. The road will be closed near open excavations, resident vehicle access past the excavation area may be restricted during working hours. The traffic controllers on site will advise you when you can get past. Please expect delays. Vehicle access is unavailable for properties near the open excavations. If there is a need for vehicle access to your property to be restricted, you will be notified in advance of the exact timing of the restrictions with a separate notice.
  • Construction works will generate some noise and vibration; however, levels will be kept to a minimum and in accordance with Auckland Council and consent requirements.

Thank you for your patience

We understand that construction for major projects such as this one can be disruptive. We aim to be a good neighbour while we’re working in your area and will work with you to minimise disruption where we can. We will also be out in your community during the works, ensuring signage and information is clear to residents and traffic.
