Kia ora e te whānau

What an amazing February! The stunning weather is reflected in many of the photos accompanying this newsletter - we have been so lucky and appreciative of everything we have been able to achieve in the sunshine. 

Thanks to everyone who came along yesterday to the parent meetings. Our staff loved meeting with you all and starting the 2024 learning journey together. Please feel free to pop in or contact us if you ever have questions or concerns or would like to help out around the place in a multitude of ways! 

Term 1 is flashing past so we wanted to let you know the dates we have coming up this year when school will be closed for the term break, public holidays and also Teacher Only Days.

Paid union meetings for primary and area school teachers are scheduled to run in Term 1.

Notification: Paid union meetings are being held between 18 March and 5 April 2024 for teacher members of NZEI Te Riu Roa covered by the following collective agreements:

• Primary Teachers’ (including deputy and assistant principals & other unit holders) Collective Agreement (PTCA)
• Area Schools Teachers’ Collective Agreement (ASTCA)

Teachers at Kaurilands School will attend the Paid Union Meeting at Ceramco Park Function Centre in Glen Eden at 1.30pm on Wednesday 27th March. This will mean school is closed for instruction from 1pm. Supervision will be available between 1-3pm. 

More information will follow. We are sorry for the inconvenience. 

TERM 1

School is closed on Good Friday 29th March, Easter Monday 1st April and Easter Tuesday 2nd April.

School will close for the term on Friday 12th April at 3pm and reopen on Monday 29th April.

TERM 2

Teacher Only Day - Friday 31st May

Public holidays:   King’s Birthday – Monday 3 June

                            Matariki – Friday 28 June

School will close for the term on Friday 5th July at 3pm and reopen on Monday 22nd July.

TERM 3

School will close for the term on Friday 27th September and reopen on Monday 14th October.

TERM 4

Teacher Only Day - Friday 25th October

Public holiday: Labour Day - Monday 28th October

School will close for the year on Friday 20th December at 1pm.
