School Library Activities
Our Library is open from 8.30am every morning for issuing and returning books, reading, chess, card games and drawing. At lunchtimes we have reading, Lego, chess, games and more. We will soon be starting lunchtime origami and comic book/graphic novel/manga clubs. The Library is also open after school until 3.30pm for issuing and returning books.
Kaurailands eplatform audio and ebooks
All students have access to the Kaurilands eplatform to read ebooks and listen to audiobooks anytime and anywhere. Kaurilands School eplatform
As well as picture books, fiction and non fiction, students have access to levelled readers and decodable phonic readers.
All Kaurilands students have their own login:
Username: First name.First two letters of surname eg Joe.Bl
Password: Library1

Top tips
Download the ePlatform app from the Apple and Google Play app stores. Also available on PCs, laptops and eReaders.
Look for your library and log in - you’ll only need to do this once.
Search for, borrow and read or listen to any book you want!
Use the Settings Wizard’ comfort reading options to suit your needs. (These Settings were created especially for dyslexic and visually impaired readers but can enhance every reader’s experience.)
Download first in Wi-Fi spaces or before you leave home.
Scholastic Book Club Issue 2
Scholastic Book Club Issue 2 has been released! It is full of carefully curated, age-appropriate titles and great value books from as low as $3.50! Plus 15% of every purchase goes back to our school in Scholastic Rewards to buy valuable educational resources that benefit your child. The LOOP is an easy way to order and pay online. Orders close on Friday 11th April and it's best to order early to ensure delivery before the school holidays.
The wonderful SPCA Kids 'Kind Matters' latest issue focuses on plastic pollution -its impact on marine life and their habitats, and how tamariki can care for marine life. The SPCA have partnered with author Karen McMillan to promote her new book 'Elastic Island Adventures: Plantation Island Resort' which will be released this month. There is a colouring competition with some awesome prizes up for grabs - from art supplies and marine animal EUGY puzzles to reusable straws, food wraps, t-shirts, books and SPCA Kids’ merch! The competition closes on Sunday 27th April.
