Whole School Olympics

On Friday we had a fabulous day celebrating the Olympics at Kaurilands School.  All children were a part of a team representing 30 different countries.  The day kicked off with a fun filled opening ceremony, full of cheer and excitement. Following this, each country moved around 10 different Olympic themed events where they were awarded points for skill and teamwork.  The day ended with a medal ceremony and closing ceremony.

Throughout the day you could hear lots of laughter, country chants, cheers and support and encouragement from children of all ages.  This will be a day remembered forever!

A big thank you to the Year 4 children for creating hundreds of medals, an Olympic flag, performing a flag dance to start the day off and creating an epic Olympic flame and cauldron.  The twelve Year 4 students who were nominated by their peers to be part of the official Kaurilands Olympic committee were a fantastic help - I was so proud of them standing in front of the school saying the Olympic Oath.
