Kia ora e te whānau
A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported our Matariki celebrations yesterday! We absolutely love this celebration each year and the amazing level of support from our community. Our thanks to all those who prepared the event, particularly Whaea Kim who not only oversees the organisation but prepares the Kapa Haka groups. Huge thanks to Trudi for organising all the kai with the assistance of Jackie Fletcher and many staff. We are so proud to be part of this wonderful community.
All our classes created beautiful art for the foyer and hall areas to commemorate Matariki. Thanks to Wayne, Sandra and Karen for putting this display together - it is truly beautiful. Thanks to Wayne and Sandra for creating the new art installation by the office. It's a stunning new addition to the art works around our school.
Farewell to Abby Skeen and Georgia Martin. Abby has been a teacher at Kaurilands School for seven and a half years and Georgia for four and a half years. Both teachers are heading off on overseas adventures - Georgia to teach at an International School in Cairo and Abby to Bali then Europe. We have so loved having both these teachers on our staff, they have contributed so much to our school community and all the lucky children they have taught over the years. We will miss them very much but they will always be part of Kaurilands School.
Finally, congratulations to our Principal Award winners from today's end of term assembly. We are so proud of you all for being amazing Kaurilands citizens!
Have a wonderful holiday everyone! Stay safe and warm and we will see you on Monday 17th July.
