Head Students Speak to Rotary

Staff —

Head students, Erika Fairweather, Enrique Garcia, Annabelle Ring and Tobias Devereux spoke at the Dunedin South Rotary lunch yesterday. Please read below for feedback from Rotary member Peter Sinclair

"What a truly remarkable session you presented this morning. The reception you all received was indicative of the admiration our members had for your achievements, for your ability to express yourselves with such refreshing clarity, and for your positive outlook in facing future challenges. What a joy for you, Kate, to be listening to such erudite, enthusiastic and engaging speakers - knowing that your school had played a strongly supportive role in fostering their individual talents and at the same time allowing their natural concern and care for others to flourish. Their pride in the school was obvious.

Many of the members commented to me afterwards how much they had enjoyed the session. As you could see, we do have quite an age range in the club; it was really interesting to note the universal appeal that your session had across all members. Your naturalness as speakers really struck a chord, as did the obvious thoroughness of your preparation.

In recent times, as a country we have become quite accustomed to bad news. How refreshing to hear such positive stories from some of tomorrow's leaders. Your drive and enthusiasm will take you a long way in life; it was our good fortune to be able to catch a glimpse of some good news stories - safe in the knowledge that there will be many more such stories in the not too distant future. Thank you for sharing your achievements and the things that you enjoy.

With best wishes

Peter Sinclair
