Southern Catholic Schools Tournament Information 2019

The Southern Catholic Schools Tournament (between Roncalli, St Kevins, Kavanagh, St Peters, and Verdon) is being held in Oamaru on Sunday 7 April and Monday 8th April

Team lists are attached and will also be posted on the sports noticeboard.  All parents and students will be emailed the permission form, this only needs to be filled out once.  Because of the preseason timing of the tournament the timeline is very tight. 

Kavanagh will be sending teams in netball, basketball boys and girls , football boys and girls and hockey boys and girls.

Dates: Sunday 7th April and Monday 8th April ( the start of the last week of Term 1).

Times:  Students are to meet at Tennyson Street at 8.00am on Sunday 7th April (The tournament starts at 11.00am for some sports). Estimated return time on Monday 8th April is 5.00pm

Venue: St Kevin's College, Oamaru

Transport: By bus or school van

Accommodation: Camp Iona. 35 Tulliemet Rd, Herbert, 9495. (03 439-5607)

Food: Students will need to bring a packed lunch/drink for the Sunday, and plenty of their own snacks. Dinner on Sunday and lunch on Monday will be provided by St Kevin’s and the cost of these meals is covered in the overall cost. A basic breakfast will be provided on the Monday at St Kevin's College Hostel.

Staff: Staff members will be managing/supervising each sport and staying with the group. A number of coaches and managers will also be in attendance. 

Uniform: All students are required to travel both to and from Oamaru in full and correct winter school uniform – including blazers for seniors. This will also be required for the dinner on Sunday evening and for mass. Teams will be supplied with their team uniform. Please remember your equipment for your sport, shoes , sticks, boots etc. Please bring your own sleeping bag and pillow, toiletries and towel.

Cost: The cost for the tournament is $80 per student. This covers transport, accommodation, the tournament entry fee which includes dinner and lunch, breakfast food and other incidentals. Please note the cost of transport is being subsidised by the College. The $80 needs to be paid, or an arrangement made with the Bursar, before students can go to the tournament.
