The Otago Age Group swimming championships were held recently at Moana Pool, with seven Kavanagh College swimmers qualifying and participating. All swimmers performed well in their respective age groups, qualifying for many finals.

The standout performance was by Erika Fairweather who was totally dominant in the 13 -14 age category, winning eight gold medals and proving why she has been longlisted by Swimming New Zealand for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games.

Great results were also achieved by:

Emma Christophers - 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze

Holly Uluakiola - 2 Gold, 2 Bronze

Meg Christophers - 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze

Will Christophers - 2 Silver, 2 Bronze

Jade Fairweather - 1 Silver and 1 Bronze.

Competing swimmers were Emma Christophers, Meg Christophers, William Christophers, Erika Fairweather, Jade Fairweather, Caitlin Reilly and Holly Uluakiola.
