Who are we?

Otago Secondary Schools Sports Association (OSSSA) was formed in 1998 and is governed by a management board consisting of secondary school principals from the Otago region.

All 23 secondary schools across the Otago region are affiliated and contribute towards funding OSSSA. Other funding partners include Sport NZ, gaming trusts and grants.

OSSSA has two staff members, Nicole McLaren who is the Regional Sports Director and Hannah Hedges who is the Events and Competitions Manager.

What OSSSA does:

- Actively promotes opportunities for all students to participate in sport

- Administrates and coordinates many competitions and events throughout the school year including South Island and National Tournaments

- Provides key sport development opportunities for school sport staff as well as students

- Advocates for secondary school sport and assist schools with their school sport plans and strategies

- Is a vital link between schools and regional sporting organisations and clubs in the region

- A collective voice for all secondary schools across Otago
