Last week local rugby referees were invited to meet test rugby referees, Nigel Owens and Wayne Barnes. 

The IRB referees were in town to officiate the Bledisloe Cup test match. Both men were very entertaining and offered the referee's group tips and advice on the field.

Craig McLennan (Year 10)  was also selected by Nigel Owens to be the referee's water carrier at an upcoming Mitre 10 Cup fixture. Craig will be running water at the Otago vs Auckland game on Thursday, 21 September at Forsyth Barr stadium.
