Tense And Tight Hockey

Michael MacKenzie —

Another week of tense and tight Hockey saw mixed results for our teams this week.

Girls Hockey

It appears the girls play their best hockey after half time as they held the top team in division 2 scoreless for 15 minutes. Down 4-0 at the half time whistle, some positional reshuffling saw normal wing Tuseka  Njoko became a rock of defense as she dominated the defensive circle with many tackles and a never give in attitude. Stand in goalie, Hunter Burke made many saves and probably has a new appreciation of goal keeping.

Boys Hockey

The lads have found their bogey time - 3:30 as we again struggled to fire at this time. Going one up early against OBHS seconds might have calmed the coaching teams nerves but a couple of errors allowed the opposition to pounce and score a couple of nice goals. Failing to convert some hard fought penalty corners didn't help the cause either. Three all was a fair result in a tense and fast game of hockey.
