This weekend, Kavanagh College is hosting the annual Bishop's Shield Speech and Drama competition between the Southern Region's Catholic Secondary Schools - St Kevin's College (Oamaru), Kavanagh College, St Peter's College (Gore) and Verdon College (Invercargill). 

Payment of NCEA fees for Years 11, 12 and 13 is due by Monday 14 August 2017.

Kavanagh Day is the College’s Feast Day when the whole school gathers together to celebrate our unity and our diversity. Students are able to wear House Colours to school.

During the suspended timetable week for senior students it is vital that students and parents know the importance of these practice externals.

This is a new and exciting course offered in New Zealand secondary schools in 2018 brought about by the massive skills shortage of graduates in Agribusiness now and in the future.

Halfway through 2016 four Kavanagh students, ( Abi Fern Year 11, Sam Fern Year 12, James Ayers Year 11, and Ashlee Young Year 13 ) along students from other schools around Dunedin including Kings, John McGlashan, Bradford Primary and Otago Polytechnic, started planning a youth mission trip to Vanuatu

Every year at Kavanagh College we publish a yearbook/magazine, recording the history and achievements of our school year. Last year’s Magazine ran to 152 pages with over 700 photographs. Our twenty-eighth magazine will again be a quality publication, with glossy pages set in laser print. The 2016 full colour version can be seen on the school website.

Congratulations to Erika Fairweather for achieving the New Zealand Swimming Championship 13 years 1500m Freestyle record in a time of 17:15.28. She smashed the previous record by over 6 seconds!

Four Kavanagh College students recently returned from Ireland after competing in a World Football Tournament for the Otago Super Cup Team.

Ariana Barr, Year 9, has been selected for the Otago Girls 14th Grade Football team

Another week of tense and tight Hockey saw mixed results for our teams this week.

Arie Bloemsaat was recently selected to represent Otago Indoor Bowls and Kavanagh College.
