This Friday we will be holding a Social Justice Day when we think about those less fortunate than ourselves and give money to support them.

Congratulations to the following students who were the major prize winners at the Cultural Awards Prizegiving held last night.

Wednesday was a busy day for the talented students at Kavanagh!

There was standing room only at the Spring Fling last week.

Last Friday, Savanah Kamura, Megan Hanning, Aliyah Tautuhi, Meihana Kewene-Masin attended a Catholic Schools Education hui in Alexandra. 

On Monday Judge Andrew Beecroft, visited the school to meet with a small group of students.

The science department is able to purchase bulk packs of Year 11 Science Revision Work booklets. These are write-on booklets that test understanding of the key concepts and most commonly asked questions. Answers can be checked online.

Our daytime shows are filling fast. There are seats available on Tuesday, December 12 at 11.30 am and some still for Monday, December 11 at 10.00 am, 11.30 am and 1.15 pm. Our evening show is Tuesday December 12 at 6pm.

Elizabeth begun her award last year and has now completed it and has started her Silver award. 

The optional summer uniform may be worn during Term 4 2018 and Term 1 2019.

Opening Hours

Four of our students were lucky enough to spend some time with Highlander and All Black Fullback Ben Smith recently at an Otago Secondary Schools Sports Association leadership breakfast.

Good luck to Temika Bishop, Emily Armstrong and Grace Bishop who are heading to the National Championships in Auckland this weekend.

Kavanagh College hockey hosted a boys hockey team from New South Wales who are doing a tour of the South Island. 

Our Senior Boys Basketball team enjoyed the opportunity to compete in the Northern Cup tournament in Auckland during the recent New Zealand Secondary Schools tournament week.

All Year 9 classes are completing five to six lessons during Term 4. These will occur during timetabled Health and Physical Education lessons at Moana Pool.
