Kia ora koutou. A big thank you to all our parents who came to our student led learning conferences this week. Our teachers have worked hard to prepare our students and give them confidence to articulate their learning with you. This is a very powerful learning experience for them.

I visited the Kauri Swimming sports this morning at Tawa Pool. It was an action packed day and I enjoyed watching our talented swimmers excel in their individual events and others showing great perseverance with a new swimming stroke. Thank you to all the parents who came along to support and help with the event. Being able to swim is certainly a life skill and so important to see our tamariki gain improved water confidence and enjoy water activities.

We had lots of exciting tamariki at our Book Fair this week and it was great to see all the families who visited our new remodeled library. A big thank you to Jane for all her mahi in coordinating our Book Fair.

The Book Character dress up day was super fun with lots of laughter especially when Dogman arrived to give out the spot prizes.

Staff update - Retirement.

Judy in our school office is retiring at the end of the term and leaving Khandallah School after 30 years.

Judy is not only a key member of our Administration team but she has also been a key staff member in coordinating the school's major property projects, school reunions and ensuring the school’s finances are carefully managed to name just a few of her achievements. She is looking forward to spending more time with her grandchildren and taking up some new hobbies!

We will celebrate with her at the end of week 9.

All the best for a great weekend.
