Kākā magazine

Newsletter —

Kākā has worked hard this term to create their own magazine called Birds of a Feather Work Together. This was a lengthy process which included coming up with a name and audience for the magazine, generating ideas and researching topics, lots of proofreading and editing, thinking about layout and design, receiving feedback and plenty of perseverance and collaboration.

The children thought about what they wanted to contribute to the magazine, and then were able to choose their own groups based on who had similar interests. They also had the option to work independently. All children displayed the Khandallah School values throughout the process, with teams taking responsibility for ensuring their page/s were made to a high standard. This magazine was made for the children of Khandallah School to enjoy and copies are in each hub and the school library. We are very thankful to Toni Shanks, parent and editor of Upstart Magazine, who visited us a couple of times to give advice and feedback.
