News Letter —

Kia ora koutou. A big thank you to our Home and School Committee for our fabulous new hoops and bright coloured shade cloth that have arrived and been erected on the new turf. We are still waiting to get the shorter netball hoops attached too, hopefully they will arrive next week.

Weather permitting, we should get the Kowhai playground completed next week. The bright new colours are really striking and our children love them.

We have started working with the Canine Friends organisation, Bentley and our students are loving this reading opportunity in Matai. Matai really enjoyed working with the Jonah Project last week. This was a very worthwhile experience for our students.

Kowhai have been working with Zealandia with their Bird Inquiry and I have loved reading some of their awesome stories. It was lovely to meet all the new children and their parents this week who are starting in Kowhai next term, a big welcome to the Khandallah School whanau.

The teachers union meetings are next week on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. School will still remain open as staff are attending on alternate afternoons and adjusting programmes.

These meetings are paid union meetings for teachers employed under the Primary Teachers Collective Agreement and the Area School Teachers Collective Agreement. At these meetings members will vote on the direction and priorities for their 2022 collective agreement renewal campaign.

Have a lovely weekend everyone, hopefully the weather improves for us!

Ngā mihi .
