Kia ora koutou

Welcome back everyone, our tamariki ran into school this week with great enthusiasm.

Teachers have planned some exciting learning opportunities this term.  They are already in the planning stages of designing trips to Wellington places of interest that connect with their inquiries.

Swimming started today for Matai hubs with great excitement, we were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day for them to sprint to the pool and back.

A big welcome to new staff this week, Koré and Jack have joined the learning support team and will be working across all hubs.

We have been really excited to reopen the library this week with its new spaces. Jane, our librarian, is enjoying the theatre seating that easily connects with large groups of students. We are still working on the best layout and deciding on new furniture to complete the project. Some of our old and out of date library books are also being culled from the library system. We will be having a book week with lots of engaging activities starting August 16th and our Annual Book Fair and I believe Dogman is also coming on our Book Character day.

Our new turf areas are completed and the new game markings are a big hit. It is especially great to see tamariki designing new games and using a variety of equipment during their break times. Our netball players have new lower netball hoops which are working well.

All the best for a great sunny weekend.
