Kia ora whanau. We are having lots of fun at school.

Kowhai explored their five senses for some writing motivation this week with shaving foam trays and lots of sprinkles of coloured glitter too. Of course I had to join in the shrieks and laughter with our delightful 5 year olds.

Matai really enjoyed Doctor Seuss celebrations last week from fancy socks to fabulous hats of all shapes and sizes. All their favourite books were read and written about, with amazing art work too.

Kaka hub has been investigating our local history through Maori stories and have loved listening to Matua Alwyn retell his stories.

Kauri hub are working on a PE skills and combined fitness circuit each morning with their favourite music being played to get them in the groove. It's great to be outside in fabulous weather still.

Covid update - As some staff have been impacted and are now self isolating with sick family members, hub programmes may look slightly different. We are trying our best to use teachers across the school to ensure we can keep school open for all year levels. Sometimes your child will be working with other teachers and routines may be slightly changed also. Thank you for your continued support with this and also ensuring you keep your child home if they are unwell.

Khandallah School continues to still have very low numbers of positive cases. Take care of everyone and look after each other. Please contact the school if we can support you in any way especially if your family is impacted with household members being unwell with covid.

Reminder: School is closed Friday 18th for all our tamariki. This is a staff only day. Teachers across our Kahui Ako will be working virtually together in different workshops. There will be no YMCA option on that day.

Have a relaxing weekend everyone.
