Kia ora whanau. This week we farewell our teacher trainees Sandra, Joey, Onaitta and Samantha from Victoria University.

After a week of rain, we decided to have some fun flicking dye to make rain. The children then drew themselves under an umbrella.

We are now taking enrolments for 2021.

We have been working hard this term focusing on measurement in mathematics and the children have amazed us with their practical and collaborative skills when designing and making their zoo habitat.

Home & School Fundraiser - Swimming Bags and Wet Bags

Year 5/6 Students will participate in the Pedal Ready training programme. This exciting programme is aimed at delivering best practice cycle skills training to help achieve the vision of a New Zealand where everyone has the opportunity to become a confident and capable cyclist.

We would like to welcome new student and her family, Sophia Rodley to Kowhai.

Next term, all Year 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 students will have swimming lessons in the school pool, led by staff from EasySwim. Year 4 – Thursdays Year 5 & 6 – Tuesdays Year 2 & 3 - Fridays

We are on the lookout for ipad chargers for Kowhai and Matai. If you have a spare ipad charger (plug not required) please send to the office. The charger end needs to look like the above. Thanks

JULY 2020 HOLIDAY PROGRAMME – NORTHLAND KIDZ CLUB We'll be customising playdough, going on Treasure & Scavenger Hunts, and having Wheels & Music Days. Nigel Kennedy, the magician, will be putting on a show, as will Little Dog Barking Puppet Theatre (“Turn on the Light”). Time Cinema, one of our favourite places, will be putting on another selection of early cartoons & films (we'll be going to Lyall Bay Beach beforehand, weather permitting !). In between, as the weather allows, we'll be going to parks & play areas, and even the Botanic Gardens. Afternoon teas ? Waffles, pancakes, & lots of other yummy food. $45 per child per day (third child onwards :$20), 8.30 a.m to 6 p.m each day.
