The annual cricket match between the Rector's 1st XI and the school 1st XI took place in perfect conditions on Wednesday afternoon.

In a nail-biting finish, the staff won with Simon Cushen hitting a four off the final ball to win the match by one run; 189 to the students' 188.

Stand-out performers were Izaak Parata with 60 runs, Beckham Wheeler-Greenall with 32 not out, Mr Bradley Scott who kept the caretaker of neighbouring Bathgate School on his toes with massive hits that threatened their windows and Mr Dave Conrad, the nearly-octogenarian, who hit a six. Rumours of performance enhancing drugs were dismissed immediately by staff team management.
