Impressions: Word – Painting enjoyed in 10Kl

Bernadette Tenci —

Super sentences from 10Kl, who are learning to note through senses.

10 minutes of input produced the following "Impressions on the Front Lawn at Midday"...

  • Reid Gibson: Pedestrians walk past on the street, wondering what we are doing sitting outside on the front lawn at midday.
  • Micah Scott: Above me is the limitless sky, partly covered in fluffy, hurricane-grey pillows. It was extremely peaceful like a good book and a mug of warm milk.
  • Olly Morris: The rain clouds have burst minute raindrops down over the wind-flattened grass.
  • Montell Penese: Insects crawl around me as if I were a king.
  • Aayden McKenzie: The garden bushes form umbrellas for the insects.
  • Josh Fairbairn: Cars are honking in the distance almost like they are fighting a vicious war against the trucks.
  • Elijah Trounson: A blanket of clouds covers the hills as if they might go to sleep. The flagpole chattered as the wind pushed the rope against it; birds fly over and swoop in for a dive-bombing run.

AND

  • Nikos Stamou: A centipede burst out of the ground and rose up, only to dig its way back down into the earth.
  • Thomas King: A bee’s faint buzzing, as it searches for nectar in the flowers newly planted between the rough bark chips, is audible.
  • Joe Lydiate: In the sky, the natural gradation from deep blue to cyan leaves me awestruck.
  • Carlos Stevens: As we sit on the ground and connect to the earth, we all feel as one, the earth holding our weight, listening to our words, but never tell a soul of what we speak.
