King’s Basketball is the real winner

Sam Fielding —

The Otago Nuggets and Taranaki Airs played their NBL competition game in July with some local flair.

Old Boys' Benji Freeman (Left) who plays for Taranaki, Dallas Hartmann (Middle) and Josh Aitcheson (Right) who play for Otago battled it out for Basketball supremacy. It marked the first time that three King’s players had been on a professional court in over 30 years.

The occasion was a special one for Dallas in particular who was making his debut. The result did not go in Otago’s favour, but King’s Basketball was the real winner on the day. Well done lads.

Additionally – Prefect and Year 13 Lachie Cameron had a huge season this year for the Otago Men’s A-Grade team. During one game Lachie led his Magic Lions team to a playoff sealing the win over the Falcons, pouring in 7 three-pointers and 23 points in total. Lachie has been outstanding for his team this year proving himself against the best men’s players in Dunedin.
