Introducing......Libby Evans

“Whāia e koe te iti kahurangi ki te tūohu koe, me he maunga teitei”

Tēnā Tatou
Ko Taranaki te maunga
Ko Pātea te awa
Ko Aotea te waka
Ko Ngāti Ruanui te iwi
Nō Ōtepoti ahau
Ko Nikora taku tama
Ko Libby taku ingoa

Although my whakapapa is in Taranaki, I was born and raised here in Dunedin. I am Mum to my son, Nikora, Year 10, and I work for Aukaha, a Kāi Tahu rūnaka-owned, not-for-profit consultancy.

As a sole parent of 13.5 years, raising my son has been my greatest passion and commitment. With whānau-based values, I actively support him to pursue personal, cultural, academic, and extra-curricular endeavours, to challenge himself and to give his best, striving for personal excellence in all he does.

Throughout my career I have gained extensive experience across Operations, Finance and Human Resources. In my current role at Aukaha, I manage the Operations, Finances, Human Resources and Health & Safety for a mid-sized organisation with annual revenue of $5m+. I am a member of the Audit and Risk Kōmiti and co-chair the Health & Safety Kōmiti. My previous role at Yardley Lo involved relationship management, compliance, HR, and office management. While I have no prior experience as a Board Member, I am familiar with the governance environment and operating at a strategic level and have a breadth of skills to draw from.

Engaging with a diverse range of people has been a key component to success during my career. I work with others effectively, with the belief that a cohesive team enhances overall performance, leading to better decisions in the undertaking of our duties. Additionally, I am self-driven, solutions-focused, and can apply critical thinking and strategic analysis to complex situations. Integrity and accountability are drivers in my decision-making processes, and these values will enable me to contribute positively and effectively to the King’s High School hāpori in the pursuit of "Building men for Life".

Lastly, I believe investing in our children is investing in the future of this world. I am enthusiastic about contributing my time, energy, skills, and knowledge to creating positive pathways, and it is my privilege to invest in the future of the King’s High School rangatahi as a member of the Board of Trustees.

E mihi ana
