Key dates for Scholarship, Hall of Residence and Coursing Applications
Term 3 is a busy term for those heading into Tertiary Education next year.
Outlined below are key dates in relation to Scholarship applications, Hall of Residence applications, Coursing assistance provided by Tertiary Institutes at school and closing dates for specific courses at the University of Otago. Scholarship Closing Dates
Scholarship applications close in a few weeks. The closing dates are heavily enforced, so ensure that you have your application submitted prior to the deadline. Make sure you have someone read over your application before you submit it, and have included all the relevant material asked for.
- University of Otago, University of Canterbury – 15th August (11.59pm)
- Victoria University – 1st September (4.30pm).
Hall of Residence Applications
Applications for Hall of Residence open on 1st August. Closing dates are provided below. A CCRF form is required for all University and Polytech applications. This form can be completed now by heading to this site. CCRFs are due before application deadlines so get on to it sooner rather than later.
- University of Otago – 30th September (CCRFs due by 15th September)
- University of Canterbury – 27th September (CCRFs due by 15th September)
- Victoria University –1st October although offers are made from mid-September
- Otago Polytech – no closing date but CCRFs due by the end of August and first offers are made in early September (late applications may be considered).
University of Otago Application Closing Dates
Some courses at the University of Otago require an application to be made earlier in the year. Specific closing dates for applications to be aware of are listed below. If you have any questions see Mrs Campbell.
- 31 August – Teaching Education programmes
- 1 September – Performance Music Audition applications
- 15 September – Bachelor of Dental Technology, Bachelor of Oral Health, Bachelor of Radiation Therapy
- 10 December – closing date for all other applications.
Coursing Assistance
Throughout Term 3 tertiary providers will be at King’s High School to assist students with designing courses, and applying for courses. Dates scheduled are as follows:
- University of Otago – 3rd August (all day in the Library; programme TBC)
- University of Canterbury – 16th August (9-11am in the Library)
- Otago Polytech – 22nd August (all day in the Library; programme TBC)
- Lincoln University – 13th September (2-3pm; see Mrs Campbell if interested)
- Victoria University –TBC.
