Taumana Pene and a group of supporters travelled to Palmerston North this week to compete in the National Ngā Manu Kōrero Speech Competition.

Taumana represented the Ōtakou/Murihuku rohe in the Korimako Senior English section. He had to deliver a three minute improvised speech and a six minute prepared speech. His natural, confident speaking manner, serious message about educating young Māori and sense of humour impressed judges and the wider audience. Ka rawe, Taumana!
