Junior team's success leads to "Best School" in O'Mathlon

John Salisbury —

The Number Works'n'Words Junior O'Mathalon 2019 was held on Thursday 22nd at the Edgar Centre. As usual, the evening was a flurry of excitement; fast feet and faster brains.

In the Year 9 competition, King's A was first equal with Otago Boys' at the end of regular time, so the competition went to 'sudden death'. Congratulations to Otago Boys' for getting the answer correct and gaining first place. King's A gained a worthy second. Congratulations also to the Year 10 King's B Team who gained third place in their event.

With those results, King's High School won the Best School Award, and the trophy will go into the cabinet with the Senior O'Mathalon Trophy.

Well done to all participants and a big 'thank you' to the Otago Mathematics Association and Number Works'n'Words for putting on such an incredible event.
