What was initially called “South Pacific Games”, started in 1963 and are held every four years. Currently, the competition boasts twenty-two Pacific Island countries facilitating twenty-four different sports and although this is a far cry from the cooler temperatures of Dunedin, both  have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
