The Nomad comes home

Kaine Harington —

Students of the Music Dept were treated to a special guest presentation from King's alumni, touring DJ and Music Producer Daimon Schwalger AKA The Nomad. The boys enjoyed hearing from Daimon as he chronicled his life's journey through music, from DJ'ing in Dunedin through to his latest "Infinite" vinyl series celebrating his 25 years in music.

Daimon was full of really valuable advice for students wanting to continue in the music industry, saying "it's better to be an hour early than a minute late". He also said his biggest strength at school was kindness and courtesy, and these remain his biggest strengths within the music industry. Great to see our King's Values mirrored within specific industry contexts.

Daimon was kind enough to gift a rare edition of his "Infinite" album to the student with the best question, this went to Harvey Rawlings. A fantastic morning for all the staff and students who attended.
